Paediatric Music Therapist

At Zanda Speech & Occupational Therapy, we are dedicated to helping children socialise and learn through personalized experiences and evidence-based practices. We are currently seeking a passionate and creative Music Therapist to join our team of amazing paediatric Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and therapy assistants.

About the Role...

​

As a Music Therapist at Zanda, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children with additional needs and their families. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including speech and occupational therapists, to incorporate the power of music into therapeutic interventions. Your role will involve:

​

  • Conducting music therapy sessions with children aged from birth-12 years old, both individually and in group settings.

  • Using music to address various areas of development, such as communication, social skills, emotional expression, and sensory regulation.

  • Developing personalized treatment plans based on the unique needs and goals of each child.

  • Engaging children in creative and interactive musical activities to promote engagement and progress.

  • Collaborating with other therapists to integrate music therapy into broader therapy programs.

  • Documenting session notes and maintaining accurate records in our practice management software.

  • Participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

 

Requirements...

​

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in music therapy or a related field.

  • Certification or registration as a Music Therapist.

  • Experience working with children with additional needs, preferably in a therapeutic or educational setting.

  • Proficiency in playing musical instruments and adapting musical interventions to individual needs.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Creativity, flexibility, and a passion for using music as a therapeutic tool.
