Program Description
Using neuro-affirming strategies within a safe and supportive environment, the program aims to assist children in exploring and building the skills to meaningfully connect with others and be part of group interactions. We respect the individual communication styles of each member of the group and aim to utilise special interests and engaging activities to help children learn important skills such as perspective taking, advocating for themselves, social problem solving, emotional regulation, and how to effectively participate in group interactions. Additionally, the program emphasises the value of compromise, teaching children how to find common ground and collaborate with their peers to ensure harmonious group dynamics.
Program Goals
Perspective taking skills, conversation skills, teamwork and collaboration skills, emotional regulation skills.
How to Enroll

- You will be booked in for an Intake Group Suitability session, this session is used to determine that the group is suitable for your child, and at the end of this session the therapist will be able to advise if the group is suitable for your child
- You will then be emailed confirmation of your child’s participation in the group outlining the group dates and times in writing
- Please note all child participation is on a trial basis, please speak with the therapist that completes your Intake Group Suitability session for more detailed information
